Today, the home comprises five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms spread out over 4,999 square feet. The front foyer opens onto an expansive great room with maple floors and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the hills. From there, there is a living room with a fireplace, a step-up dining room, and a home office situated between floors. A remodeled kitchen with oval stone backsplash and high-end appliances is accessible from both the living and dining rooms. The main floor of the pool house hosts a bar and lounge area. The wall behind the bar is decorated with framed pictures of Sammy Davis Jr. at the house, parties at the pool, and even one of Frank Sinatra sitting at the bar.
A recent excursion proved enlightening for a number of reasons. Beyond offering detailed accounts of what life may have been like for some of the stars who lived here — and some who still do — Bannister reveals a wealth of knowledge about architecture. TV actor and comedian Wally Cox owned the place after the Minnellis, and Sammy Davis Jr. purchased it from him in 1955. There is also a firepit, which was a more recent addition.

Tom McDonald agreed to drive Helen’s car, at least as far as possible. On or about November 18, 1954, Thomas paid for his share of the trip, thanked the ladies, and departed. From the great room, a living room with a fireplace leads to steps up to the dining room. Both the living and dining rooms have substantial windows so that the view below is never out of sight.
If you have a party of 5-7, you can request his famed tamed table. Lord Fletcher’s is also known for its incredible drinks and desserts. The building still stands, unfortunately the business closed because of Covid. Cancel any upcoming flights to the moon, because living in Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack home is a great reason to stay on Earth. The Road to Fame and Fortune
This beautiful estate is more than just a house; it is a refuge high in the hills, alive with Hollywood history and glamor. The home "may have the strongest connection to the real Sinatra, built to his personal specifications to satisfy his unique inner needs," according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com. The current owner's family were friends of Sinatra and are the only ones who've lived at the home since the famous crooner. I have done the driving tour using the map available from the Visitor’s Center many time as out of towners are looking for some kitschy fun.
There’s actually a great big wall around this place, bigger than what you’d find at most prisons. But I jumped really high, held my phone up in the air and hoped for the best. I’ve heard a lot of people say this home is tacky, but I think it’s a charming, unapologetic throwback. Living here would be like having Tomorrowland in your living room. I already knew this central Palm Springs neighborhood is home to swanky digs and architectural gems.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my tour of iconic tour of Celebrity Homes Palm Springs Edition, and look forward to visiting other celebrity homes very soon. Since this desert city was famous for having many celebrity residents, Elvis would often run into other entertainers in Palm Springs. “We’d find ourselves hanging out for a night at Liberace’s house, or riding around in a Rolls-Royce Elvis had borrowed from Sammy Davis Jr., at Sammy’s insistence,” Jerry Schilling recalled.
Complete with a sitting area and fireplace, the bedroom also has an enormous attached bathroom with its own fireplace and a free-standing tub adjacent to a window overlooking the hills. A gentle breeze flows through the space making it a relaxing and cool place to be on a hot summer day. One of my favorite things to do as of late is stalk celebrity homes and such. During a whirlwind 24 hour visit to Palm Springs, I looked up some of the past addresses as it has been a vacation destination for stars from the stage and the screen.

If showcases the mid-century modern look and feel that many of the homes in Palm Springs feature, and by the looks of these photos, it truly lives up to its name. 515 West Via Lola stands the former Palm Springs residence of famed actor Kirk Douglas. It has been given the distinction of historic status, and was built in the early 1950’s. The home was recently valued at $3.5 million and was last purchased in 2016. Just around the corner from Elvis’ Honeymoon Hideaway is Sammy Davis Jr.’s Palm Springs manor. Not too much is known about the house, but it was allegedly purchased during the 60’s heyday of The Rat Pack era.
After Elvis and Priscilla got divorced in 1973, Elvis expanded the house with an additional 1,500 square feet. By 1974, Elvis had added a party room with checkerboard flooring, a sauna, a new bedroom with red carpet and two bathrooms with red and white tile. The pool house includes an upstairs bedroom and bathroom so that after a late-night party, Davis would not have to climb the stairs to go back to the main house.
Number of Martin’s grandchildren who were often seen at their lemonade stand, offering refreshments to onlookers fascinated with the home’s celebrity history. Some still believe that Sammy crashed into a train bridge, which he didn’t. His car hit a brick gate entry on Route 66, several hundred feet away, and close to the impact. Helen took over driving, and the two women continued down Route 66, clearing the last of the open desert and the bottom of the Cajon Pass.
Before the end of his life, he became a household name throughout the world. The lights of the Las Vegas Strip were dimmed for 10 minutes in his honor. Smitten by the Palm Springs desert lifestyle after spending time at Frank’s place, and after fortune followed fame, Sammy had a home right in the heart of Palm Springs too (near Jack Benny’s house).
